Christmas Events in Downtown Hanover
Hanover, PA: The holidays are right around the corner! The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Hanover, along with area service clubs and organizations, are pleased to announce several upcoming holiday events.
The festivities will officially kick off on Fri., Nov 24 with the annual Santa Parade. Santa will make his arrival to Hanover during the 9 a.m. parade, and set up shop in his cabin on the square for the remainder of the holiday season. Join the parade using registrations forms below! After the parade, visit Santa when he’s at the cabin during the following hours:
Fri. Nov. 24: 9am – Noon, 1-5pm & 6-8pm
Sat. Nov. 25: 10am – Noon, 1-6pm
Tree lighting: 6-7pm with live music and activities.

Small Business Saturday is on November 25 with the downtown tree lighting ceremony, featuring carolers and special performances by Pennsylvania Theatrical Arts. All events are free and open to the public.
Check off your Christmas list at downtown Hanover shops and retailers! Don’t worry about the meters- parking is free on Fridays, Nov. 24 through Dec.30.
Main Street Hanover, in conjunction with downtown businesses, will host Christmas Tree Wars throughout the holiday season. The friendly competition is designed to decorate every business in downtown with a unique tree or lighting display. Over 25 downtown businesses and organizations have signed up to create a holiday tree at their place of business, to be voted on by the general public. The tree can be made of any material and can be placed anywhere inside or outside the business. Wait until you see the creativity!
Passports for the Christmas Tree Wars are available to the general public, and can be picked up at the Hanover Chamber Office, Santa’s Cabin, and any participating business. The passports will be stamped at each business and returned once filled for entry into a prize drawing. Passports can be returned to Hanover Chamber, 146 Carlisle St. via the mail slot.
Christmas Tree Wars will run Nov. 23 through Dec. 29.
Lastly, join Main Street Hanover for a Cookie Stroll on 2nd Saturday, December 9 from 1pm-5pm.
