Dawg Gone Bees is a family-owned and operated business dedicated to continuing a legacy of natural beekeeping while creating high-quality products made from the gifts of the hive. The company’s mission is to honor the traditions passed down through generations while helping other beekeepers pursue sustainable and natural beekeeping practices.
The roots of Dawg Gone Bees can be traced back to George Wesley’s beekeeping efforts in the 1870s. Generations later, his grandson Floyd Wesley, affectionately known as Grandpa Wesley, established his own apiary and shared his knowledge with his grandson Hal. In 2009, Hal’s wife, Jacki, transformed the family hobby into a business by bringing their honey to local farmers markets.
Built on Grandpa Wesley’s teachings, Dawg Gone Bees remains committed to natural beekeeping practices. The company’s hives are maintained without the use of chemicals or antibiotics, and the bees are not fed corn syrup or sugar, ensuring the production of pure, natural honey. The family takes pride in creating homemade products that reflect their dedication to quality and sustainability.
As Jacki expanded the product line beyond honey, the business continued to grow, with family members joining in to create additional handcrafted products. In 2015, after extensive experimentation and development, Hal introduced a line of flavorful meads, adding another unique offering to the Dawg Gone Bees collection.
From honey and handcrafted goods to natural beekeeping products and mead, Dawg Gone Bees continues to share its family traditions and passion with customers. The company remains committed to creating products made with care, quality, and a deep respect for the bees that make it all possible.
