Cultivated Essentials Co. Announces Upcoming Candle-Making and Botanical Workshops in Hanover

Hanover, PACultivated Essentials Co. is inviting the community to slow down, get creative, and experience the art of handmade goods through a series of upcoming workshops taking place throughout August and September.

Located at 28 Frederick Street in downtown Hanover, Cultivated Essentials Co. offers unique, hands-on experiences where guests can create custom candles, botanical crafts, and other handcrafted pieces while enjoying a relaxing studio environment.

Bring Your Own Vessel (BYOV) Candle Making — August 6

Cultivated Essentials Co. is expanding its popular Bring Your Own Vessel (BYOV) candle-making experience with dedicated sessions held on the first Thursday of each month. The next session will take place on Thursday, August 6, from 3–6 p.m.

Participants can bring a favorite vessel—whether it’s a vintage treasure, a meaningful container, or a vessel from a previous candle pour—and transform it into a custom-scented candle made entirely by them.

BYOV candle making is a creative, eco-friendly, and affordable way to refill and reuse containers while creating something uniquely personal.

Pricing:

  • $1.75 per ounce of wax (includes wax, fragrance, and cotton wick)
  • $4 studio fee per session (covers setup, tools, and cleanup)
  • $2 additional fee per extra vessel (each vessel requires individual setup)

Vessel Guidelines:
Guests should bring clean, safe, and sturdy containers. All vessels will be inspected before pouring.

Accepted vessels include:

  • Ceramic mugs
  • Heat-resistant glass jars
  • Small vases
  • Vintage containers (must be free of cracks)
  • Wooden dough bowls (available with a $5 sealing and fireproofing fee; one-week advance drop-off required)

For safety, vessels should have a wide, flat base, be no larger than 5 inches tall or wide, and contain no wax residue or leftover wicks. Thin glass, fragile ceramics, or untreated wooden containers cannot be used.

How it works:

  1. Choose your favorite vessel.
  2. Visit Cultivated Essentials Co. during a BYOV session.
  3. The team will help wick your vessel.
  4. Follow step-by-step instructions to create your custom candle.
