Description
Every great adventure starts with a simple idea… ours just happened to involve seafood, craft beer, and the belief that great food has a way of bringing people together.
Lighthouse 153 was founded by husband-and-wife team Jessica and Matthew Krumrine. Jessica spent more than 20 years leading Human Resources and Talent Management teams as an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist, helping organizations build exceptional workplaces and unforgettable customer experiences. Matthew built his career as a powerhouse in the energy industry, solving complex problems and leading high-performing teams. Together, they shared a dream that had nothing to do with boardrooms or power plants—it was about creating a place where people could relax, laugh, eat incredible food, and make memories.
Like most great ideas, it started small.
Armed with a food truck, a whole lot of determination, and probably more coffee than anyone should consume, they hit the road serving fresh, coastal-inspired favorites. They quickly discovered something special: people weren’t just coming for the food—they were coming for the experience. Friendly faces, genuine hospitality, and food made from scratch became the heart of everything they did.
That little food truck soon grew into Lighthouse 153 at Franklin Street Social in Red Lion, where our lobster rolls, crab cakes, seafood baskets, and house-made recipes earned a loyal following. Watching guests return again and again—and bring their friends and families with them—confirmed that they were onto something.
Their next adventure brought us to downtown Hanover, where Lighthouse 153 has grown into a full-service coastal restaurant complete with their own craft brewery. Here you’ll find everything that made them into who they are—fresh seafood, handcrafted cocktails, house-brewed beer, and warm hospitality—served in a relaxed atmosphere that feels like a mini vacation, no matter how far you are from the ocean.
Their name comes from the story in John 21, where the disciples caught 153 fish after following Jesus’ direction. To us, it represents abundance, gratitude, and the joy that comes from sharing a meal together. Whether you know the story or not, they hope Lighthouse 153 becomes a place where everyone feels welcome.
Today, they’re still family owned, still passionate about doing things the right way, and still obsessed with creating memorable experiences—one lobster roll, one craft beer, and one happy guest at a time.
Thanks for being part of their story. They can’t wait to welcome you to the table.
