Main Street Hanover Hosts Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Hanover Theater Artwork

HANOVER, PA. Main Street Hanover hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 to unveil the fourth rotation of local artwork on the transformed façade of the Hanover State Theater at 39 Frederick Street.

The project was a joint initiative of the Saturdays on Main Street Committee and the Hanover Area Arts Guild and Gallery artists.

Strategically placed, unique pieces along the theater’s outer walls provide eye catching and thematic depictions in accordance with the display’s theme of “For the Love of Hanover”.

Main Street Hanover would like to recognize the following businesses and individuals involved in the art initiative: Hanover State Theater for allowing the committee to continue its art rotation; Schmuck Lumber for donating materials; Jennifer Robinson and Friends of Hanover State Theatre for mural upkeep; Kristin Newman, Saturdays on Main Street and Chair of Façade Artwork; and Hanover Area Arts Guild and Gallery artists for donating their artwork.

With a mission to expand the economic capacity of Downtown Hanover, thus improving the business environment, enhancing the quality of place, and increasing community synergy, Main Street Hanover brings together diverse community interests and resources to promote the economic vitality, architectural heritage and cultural vibrancy of the downtown business district.

Through increased partnership to implement Main Street Hanover, Hanover Borough, Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce and the York County Economic Alliance are committed to expanding the region’s economic capacity.
